What was the Abu Dhabi Air Expo like? Want to learn more about the discussions held by giant leaders in the aviation industry? Stay on and learn more.
The aviation industry has continued to make tremendous growth over the years. The industry was previously hit by the global pandemic slowing down its operations and the need for more innovations to make operations easier and seamless.
However, with things slowly opening up, the aviation industry is now bigger and stronger. In this article, we will fill you in on the recently held Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2022 and some great innovations and new technologies discussed by giant global leaders.
Read on to learn more about how these discussions at the show could benefit your organization.
What is the future growth and development in the aviation industry?
Gone are the days when we only understand aviation by mentioning aeroplanes, aircraft, helicopters, and jets. That’s all we knew to do their operations in the air. Research shows that the future of aviation shows an increase in the use of air transport. The Abu Dhabi Air Expo that was held recently confirmed that the aviation industry has a bright future.
Mr. Mohammed Husain Ahmed (Royal Jet CEO), Joscha Kremers (United Nations Chief Aviation and Logistics section), Mr. Francois Bourienne (CMO Abu Dhabi Airports), and Mr. Badr Al Olama (Mubadala Executive Director) sat in the first panel and discussed what they hope the future of aviation will look like, especially with the upcoming air innovations.
What will emerging technologies make green aviation possible?
You probably understand that even traveling by air releases toxic gases which act as air pollutants. Giant aviation industries are looking for ways to develop technologies to prevent these toxic gas emissions.
The second panel at the Air Expo had a lot to share about the benefits of making aviation green. The panel discussed that in addition to having a clean environment through eliminating toxic gas emissions. New technologies would come with green aviation health benefits.
The Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2022 had renowned companies like GIS Drones displaying some of their powerful innovations, which are already on their way to embracing green aviation.
Industrial drones such as the DJI Matrice 300 are among some of the emerging aviation technologies discussed at the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2022 and are used for professional jobs and work well when experiencing turbulence and other harsh conditions during a flight. Does the use of drones foster sustainability?
Mohamed Shawky, founder and CEO of GIS Drones, was among the panelists discussing environmental sustainability through the use of drones as an emerging technology in the aviation industry.
Mr. Mohamed Shawky had the following to say in his speech on how drones play a great role in sustainability.
“The principles of sustainability refer to the three core concepts of environmental, social, and economy.
Drones are incredible tools for science and sustainability. They help in multiple applications, such as:
– Agriculture crop tracking
– Water resources management
– Harness the power of the sun to inspect solar panels failures
– Survey complex landscapes, and much more.
Two recent project examples of how GIS Drones have supported sustainability are:
1 – Drones helped us to sustain our resources in the aerial mapping of the biggest landfill in the Abu Dhabi desert, to map large areas and detect toxic gases while keeping the employees and pilot safe
2 – Working with the municipality to scan the waste for a large area of the desert, which couldn’t do with humans
It can see anything from the sky and then quantify it. “
Below are more detailed explanations of how drones help with environmental sustainability.
Monitoring Giant Energy Structures
Mohamed Shawky mentioned a need for more effort in regularly inspecting energy structures as any hitch with them could cause huge environmental disasters. While there are risks posed to the person inspecting these energy structures, such as the drones, Mohamed was sure to demonstrate to attendees how drone inspection is beneficial to the inspecting team.
Wildlife tracking and conservation
Another way discussed at the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2022 on how emerging technologies in the aviation industry help with sustainability is easier tracking of wildlife and conversation. But what tools help to make this a seamless process?
The drone is built with a bird’s eye view making it an excellent tool for forest surveillance. Using this drone makes it possible to capture all the information needed while tracking wildlife without interfering with their space.
Some forests need a keen eye, as trespassers can go through harm from present wildlife. Again, Mohamed discussed using surveillance through drone usage under such circumstances.
Prevention of disasters
Have you imagined what it would be like being on an aircraft and conducting a survey while on air? What happens when the aircraft has a mechanical issue while you are still conducting the survey?
Disasters often occur when human capacity has its hands tied to reaching certain places. Drones are handy as they are built to fly to these inaccessible areas and make the necessary surveillance. They can fly into places with the highest risk and gather accurate information.
At the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2022, industry leaders came together and discussed how emerging aviation technologies, such as drone usage, help to prevent unwanted disasters that are harmful to the environment and man.
Mohamed Shawky remembered to mention that the GIS Drones are built for asset inspection and perform a good job without harming the worker’s health and life. Additionally, he mentioned that they are cost-effective as there is not a much-needed workforce to complete the survey and inspections.
Replanting the forests
Forests are prone to disasters when accidents such as huge fires occur. When a fire disaster hits the forest, everything in it is depleted, leaving bare grounds that are not good for the environment.
It may take months and even years to replant a forest that has gone through such a calamity. However, the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2022 recently held confirmed through giant industry leaders in the aviation industry that replanting within the shortest time was possible through drones.
The aviation industry continues to grow tremendously, especially with innovations and technologies which make it an exciting yet competitive field. The Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2022 provided learning opportunities for many aviation industry leaders through connections and networking.
The event posed opportunities and insights to use, which can help more companies grow in this field. If you would like to learn more than what was shared at the Air Expo on Drones Filming, contact GIS drones today.
